The Children’s Diabetes Foundation, a non-profit organization, is looking for an energetic, team player who can help us fill our temporary, part-time Auction Assistant position. Our mission is to raise funds to continue quality care of diabetic patients at our medical facility. In addition, we raise funds to support research programs at the Barbara Davis Center.
Qualifications: This position requires applicants with a High School Diploma. (College degrees a plus.) Applicant must be confident and comfortable with all aspects of the computer including: Internet research, Microsoft Outlook, MS office (including word, excel, access) and type at least 50 wpm. Applicant should have top organizational skills, good work ethic, non-profit enthusiasm, and must pay attention to detail. Candidate must be flexible and have flexible work hours.
This position requires an ability to maintain confidentiality. Individual must be able to prioritize tasks well and be able to be in an environment of changing priorities. You must be able to work well with limited supervision and at times, under pressure. Excellent writing and proofing skills are required. Applicant should have the ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
**Extra attention will be given to applicants who have non-profit event experience and knowledge of the non-profit software, Raiser’s Edge**
Duties of the Auction Assistant include but not limited to:
Data Entry (Raiser’s Edge, Excel, Word, Cloud-based programs)
Assist Auction Manager in various duties (phone and email correspondence)
Update contact list through phone calls
Track, acquire, photograph and store Auction Items
Assist in writing Auction Catalogue
Assist with solicitation correspondence, acknowledgement letters, e-filing
This is a temporary position and will start February 8, 2016 and end November 18, 2016.
The work schedule is as follows:
February/March/April/May – 16-24 hours a week.
June/July/Aug – 24-32 hours a week
September/October – 40 hours a week
November – 24 hours a week
No benefits will be offered for this position as it is temporary.
Salary range, depending on experience, will be $12.50 to $14.00 hour
Days of the week are flexible, but hours of employment are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Some Travel will be expected. Approximately 2-4 meetings out of state, in addition to
1 ½ weeks for event in Los Angeles.
