Job Title: Director of Finance and Facilities

General Description: The Director of Finance and Facilities (DFF) at Denver Christian Schools is a committed Christian who understands and embraces the Reformed perspective as it addresses teaching, learning and all operations within the schools that contribute toward the same. With Denver Christian Schools’ Guiding Principles acting as the foundation for thought and performance, the DFF is a professional and servant-leader, called by God to provide management of financial and physical plant resources so as to provide the environment that enables the accomplishment of the DCS mission. The DFF reports to and is directly responsible to the CEO for performance of duties, responsibilities and tasks as may be assigned by the CEO, including but not limited to management of office and physical plant staff; financial plans, reports and stability; budget preparation and reports; monthly financials; human resources and payroll; tuition assistance management; maintaining adequate insurance for DCS property and liability; operation and maintenance of physical plant assets and property; transportation program.

The DFF is committed to his own personal, spiritual and professional growth as well as to the growth of each student and staff member.
Responsibilities: With regard to all members of the DCS community, the DFF will:
a)Provide leadership and direction for the fiduciary aspects of the school.
b)Recruit and supervise central office, human resources, payroll and finance assistance staff, and physical plant/property maintenance staff.
c)Ensure the financial sustainability of DCS by establishing both policies and procedures that work to build financial strength over periods of economic fluctuation.
d)Build and maintain financial planning models that are useful to evaluate current revenue/cost ratios, provide for accurate budget projections, and plan for future resources required to accomplish institutional goals.
e)Prepare annual budgets for board and society approval, managing all fund accounts and ensuring that both revenues and expenditures are timely and accurate.
f)Prepare and report monthly financials for DCS and the DCS Foundation.
g)Manage the annual audit for DCS and the annual review for the DCS Foundation.
h)Manage and communicate human resources in a way that empowers staff to remain focused on their jobs.
i)Establish procedures and policies in compliance with federal and state regulations.
j)Submit all required HR reporting for governmental and other agencies.
k)Coordinate and supervise the administration of tuition assistance for families working within the DCS financial sustainability model.
l)Maintain an accurate student billing system, and overseeing collection of tuition revenue and managing accounts receivable.
m)Maintain accurate and accessible records of donated funds and any associated designation of those donations according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
n)Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of all physical plant assets and property owned by Denver Christian Schools.
o)Obtain all required inspections of physical plant assets and properties owned by Denver Christian Schools, and maintain appropriate records of such inspections.
p)Establish a reliable and financially sustainable transportation program.
q)Understand and achieve the yearly end goals established collaboratively by the CEO and the DFF.
r)Perform other such duties as may be determined by the CEO from time to time.
