The Colorado Education Initiative (CEI) is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Healthy Schools Collective Impact (CI) effort, for which CEI is the backbone organization.ï¿½ The Project Coordinator will support the CI Director, Steering Committee and Work Groups in various capacities to ensure smooth operations and implementation of the strategic vision for the initiative.ï¿½ The role requires experience in stakeholder engagement, a passion for health and wellness and education, as well as a commitment to improving the lives of all Colorado students.ï¿½ This position will report to the CI Director.ï¿½ Please see below for details regarding desired responsibilities and qualifications.
About the Healthy Schools Collective Impact Initiative
The work of the Healthy Schools Collective Impact effort is about partners working together to align efforts and resources to support schools in making their environments, staff, and students healthier so that students can reach their full potential in school and life.ï¿½ There has already been a tremendous amount of momentum in this effort; healthy schools stakeholders have been meeting regularly to understand issues and identify potential strategies, and working to engage other partners and schools throughout Colorado.

The Project Coordinator will be part of a small team responsible for driving the CI work forward, in particular supporting day-to-day administration, day-to-day communications, community engagement, and data functions. The Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring that the initiative runs smoothly and efficiently.ï¿½
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Project Management
oï¿½ï¿½ Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of meetings for the Steering Committee, Advisory Council, and Work Groups, including scheduling meetings, managing all meeting logistics, and preparing materials
oï¿½ï¿½ Prepare, edit, and/or coordinate meeting agendas, minutes, and presentations, as needed
oï¿½ï¿½ Draft, edit, and support implementation of a highly detailed work plan outlining all programs and efforts supporting the CI effortï¿½s goals, the stakeholders responsible for those efforts, and expected timelines. This could include:
ï¿½ï¿½ Coordinating research and other activities with initiative partners to minimize redundancies and to align strategies and actions
ï¿½ï¿½ Working with CI Director to coordinate with other related projectsï¿½ and coalitions to maintain a full understanding of the current landscape of statewide activities, and integrating their work into this initiative
oï¿½ï¿½ Facilitate smooth and consistent communication among all members of the initiative by coordinating regular updates (email, phone and/or in person) to ensure alignment of activity
oï¿½ï¿½ Work with communications staff, consultants,ï¿½ and CI Director to implement communications plan
oï¿½ï¿½ Assist in the development of materials (print, web-based, and social media) to communicate about the initiative with a variety of stakeholders
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Community Engagement
oï¿½ï¿½ Support implementation of stakeholder engagement plan, including updating the plan as new needs emerge
oï¿½ï¿½ Develop and maintain a list of participants and other community partners
oï¿½ï¿½ Build and maintain relationships with community partners
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting
oï¿½ï¿½ Coordinate with the CIï¿½s Research and Impact team and CI Director to support all evaluation of CI work. This could include:
ï¿½ï¿½ Coordinating metrics refinement with Work Groups and Steering Committee
ï¿½ï¿½ Working with Project Director to ensure all partners are aware of targets and metrics
ï¿½ï¿½ Creating annual summary reports ofï¿½ progress
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ A minimum of 3 years work experience, including one or more years of proven community outreach and coordination experience
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Customer-service orientation and problem-solving attitude, along with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Strong organizational skills, with high attention to detail
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ PMI certification, such as CAPM or PMP, preferred
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Strong community engagement and facilitation skills
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Knowledge of and commitment to collective impact concepts
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Experience with project management software, such as MindJet and MS Project, highly preferable but not required
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Flexibility and willingness to try new approaches
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Comfort with working in dynamic, fast-paced environment and ambiguity
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Willingness to travel occasionally within Colorado
ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ Bachelorï¿½s Degree or comparable experience
