The Colorado Nonprofit Association is proud to announce the first-ever study of individual charitable giving within the state of Colorado. This study profiles regions of strong and weak charitable giving, while also comparing Colorado to the rest of the United States. Profiles of charitable giving within different income categories are included as well. This study was sponsored by United Way programs and community foundations throughout the state of Colorado. The Colorado Nonprofit Association has developed Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence in Colorado, a guidebook detailing nine principles and 120 practices to help Colorado nonprofits assess and strengthen their work. The guide, supported by Colorado's Secretary of State and Attorney General, was created with the assistance of dozens of nonprofit leaders and consultants throughout Colorado. Update on Amendment 41The Colorado Nonprofit Association has joined a group of citizens posing a constitutional challenge to Amendment 41. The First Amendment Council is a collection of Colorado-based individuals, nonprofits, and businesses assembled on behalf of all Coloradans who have had their constitutional rights violated by the broad and unfocused language of Amendment 41. The legal challenge to the amendment, supported by the First Amendment Council, is slated for hearing on May 7 in Denver District Court.
