We keep an ear to the ground and inform our members of any federal legislation or regulations that may affect nonprofits. If new policies are adopted, we also help the nonprofit sector make sense of them.
Here are some recent examples of our work:
- Providing information and resources to help nonprofits adapt to proposed changes to overtime pay rules.
- Expressing concerns with proposed changes to IRS gift acknowledgment rules that encouraged collection of donors' personal information.
- Urging protection and expansion of the charitable deduction.
- Putting together an overview of Federal Health Care Reform following the adoption of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and a summary of key PPACA provisions that affect nonprofits.
