Nurse-Family Partnership Marcomm Intern

Position:  Marketing and Communications Intern

Description:  Nurse-Family Partnership (“NFP) changes the future for the most vulnerable babies born into poverty in the United States, and their courageous mothers, in the first 1000 days between early pregnancy and baby’s second birthday. During the most critical time for brain development, we offer expert, proven, and intensive caregiving to mom, allowing her to discover her capacity to become a caring, competent and tenacious mother and provider.

NFP seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing while working for well-known national nonprofit organization.


• Write client stories for publication on Marcomm channels

• Assist Marcomm manager in planning, writing and managing monthly eNewsletter

• Updates Nurse-Family Partnership website as needed (work with Marcomm Manager)

• Designing flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material

• Register NFP agencies on Google business

• Organize marketing materials for agencies

• Update Marcomm documents (such as state profiles)

• Assist Marcomm team in a variety of tasks as needed

Open to suggestions to pursue areas of interest


• Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space

• Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English,

Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations)

• Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus

• Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop highly desired. Knowledge of HTML and graphic design a plus

• An effective communicator, both written and oral

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts

• Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

Start Date: Position open until filled

Hours:  a minimum of 15 hours per week

Compensation: This is an Unpaid/Volunteer internship, preferably for credit
