Job Description:

Scrum Alliance, Inc. is seeking a Meetings & Events Intern to support the Global Engagement Team in the execution of Global Scrum Gatherings and miscellaneous meetings and events. Global Scrum Gatherings are held annually in up-to three international markets, North American, Europe and Asia-Pacific. These multi-day meetings host delegates from around the world and vary in size from 300-1,500+. Delegates attend Global Scrum Gatherings seeking educational resources, networking opportunities, products and services, and information on how to implement or improve their use of Scrum and Agile frameworks.

Position is expected to work 10-15 hours per week, Monday-Thursday. Great opportunity to work in casual business environment and gain experience in multiple areas of conference management and global meetings experience. Potential for successful candidate to hold internship for multiple semesters, with possibility of full time position post-graduation. 

How To Apply

Meetings & Events Intern will be responsible for duties as follows:

  • Field customer support inquiries related to registration, housing, abstract submissions support and miscellaneous attendee needs
  • Compile event reports from databases on regular basis
  • Assist with event RFP processing and compiling responses
  • Ordering of promotional products and supplies for all meetings
  • Inventory management and shipping of event materials for meeting locations, to include supplies, promotional giveaways, Scrum Alliance branded materials as required
  • Process speaker, facilitator and miscellaneous service contracts. Serve as point of contact for contract submissions, facilitate review and signature by department lead, and file management of completed contracts
  • Assist in internal event program processes
  • Responsible for in-office event support during offsite meetings
  • Responsible for department expense reports related to meeting travel and department purchases
  • Support sponsorship needs as assigned
  • Support event-marketing needs as assigned
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned


  • Must be enrolled in Event Management program, seeking Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Highly organized, self-starter
  • Understanding of email platforms (Microsoft Outlook)
  • Sound knowledge Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required 
  • Previous customer service and administrative experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during offsite meetings
  • Previous experience with database or website platform highly desirable, but not required
  • Conversational knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or German highly desirable, but not required
  • High preference for Monday and Wednesday, primary availability, with potential for additional hours Tuesday and Thursday 
  • Flexible work hours, 8:30am – 4:00pm
