Job Description: 

We are seeking a full time, year round accounting assistant who will assist with ongoing tracking, categorizing and bookkeeping/accounting for our five weekly farmers markets, as well as the bookkeeping for Seeds Library Cafe, which is owned by our organization. All work is done during office hours in our Conestoga Court headquarters/office in Boulder.

Areas of Responsibility

Invoice our vendors, artisans, and community groups weekly

Weekly accounting for Seeds Library Cafe (approximately 4 hours per week) which is owned by BCFM

Process all vendor fee bags returned from markets - separating & categorizing market currencies; prepare vendor fee bags going to markets

Plan, process and track currency distribution for each of our 5 weekly markets

Track all food access currencies (SNAP, WIC, Double Up Food Bucks, Veggie Bucks, etc.) redeemed by vendors as well as going to and from markets

Data entry into spreadsheets with food access currencies distributed and redeemed by market

Maintain spreadsheets to track late invoices/payments/fee bags

Assist with mailing vendor statements, paying invoices, filing, etc.

Maintain spreadsheets and currency logs

Check mail and phone messages

Prepare weekly bank deposits & take to bank

 

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Detail oriented and extremely organized
  • Communicates in a professional manner; excellent communication skills
  • Works efficiently and effectively; able to complete tasks by scheduled deadlines daily/weekly
  • Positive outlook and attitude a MUST
  • Ability to successfully multitask and/or quickly transition from task to task
  • Takes initiative/critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work alone or in a group
  • Takes healthy accountability
  • QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Google Suite experience a plus
Compensation/Benefits

$15 - $17 per hour depending on accounting experience, plus 10 days paid time off per year, 7 paid holidays per year, RTD pass to ride all RTD transit at no charge, 65% of medical insurance paid by the company, optional vision and dental plans available at group prices, Employee Assistance Plan offering confidential third party professional counseling services for various life events.
