The Antonito Together Resident Team, under the fiscal sponsorship of Colorado Nonprofit Development Center (CNDC), seeks an individual who is committed to the Antonito area and is interested in being a creative part of a long-term plan (or “road map”) to make a healthy community for all Antonito area residents. This person will be primarily responsible for bringing youth and other residents together to build capacity, relationships and a long term plan to address Health Equity in the community.  This person will be in charge of a Youth Advisory Council of 5 to 7 youth ages 14-19 under the guidance and direction of Antonito Together.  The Community Outreach Organizer will work with the Resident Team, the Community Coordinator, the Leadership Team and the Community Partner in order to be successful in this work. This individual will report directly to the Community Coordinator and will be an employee of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center.

Areas of Responsibility

The Community Outreach Organizer will bring together groups of diverse community residents (parents, teens, seniors, veterans, etc.) with the goal of making a healthy community for all Antonito area residents, especially focused on youth and young adults ages 12-25. This position will be the bridge between the team and the community to encourage participation in events, plan, secure, and set up venues for events, advertise in the community for participation and develop relationships with community members and our experts/partners.  This will include:

  1. Communicate and collaborate with Resident Team, Coordinator, Organizer, Community Partner and Evaluator
  2. Outreach to diverse community members
  3. Event planning and organization
  4. Creative thinking and good communication skills
  5. Assist with youth advisory meeting facilitation and taking minutes
  • POSITION: Position is part-time, non-exempt and is funded by a grant with possible extensions..
  • SCHEDULE: Up to 20 hours per week; flexible schedule (potential to work around your current work schedule); some evening and weekend hours will be required.
  • TRAVEL: For work-related travel, employees are reimbursed according to the current IRS mileage guidelines.
  • EQUIPMENT: Needs to have reliable access to a vehicle and possess a valid Colorado driver’s license. Cell phone reimbursement available
  • LOCATION:  611 Main Street, Antonito, Colorado
  • REPORTS TO: Community Coordinator

Compensation/Benefits

PAY: $20 per hour
