The Tennyson Center for Children is dedicated to helping children who have experienced severe neglect, abuse, and/or trauma so they can bravely, and safely, change their life’s story. Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home is a 501(c)(3) organization registered in the state of Colorado. 

  • The Development Coordinator will support all aspects of the Center’s development efforts. The Development Coordinator will focus their support to the Director of Development and the Strategic Operations Manager and will ultimately be responsible for donor and revenue entry and Individual donors (as defined below). 
Areas of Responsibility

Individual Giving (40%)

  • Own individual giving appeals to achieve individual donor giving goals in partnership with the Development Director.
  • Create and send pledge reminders and gratitude letters.
  • Monitor and increase donor retention by the development of strategies and tracking procedures, as well as, meaningful engagement.  
  • Be an expert of best practices in the department’s consistent use in the Raiser’s Edge NXT.

Stewardship (20%)

  • Manage donor stewardship for individual donors including tracking proper recognition in annual report, monitoring pledge reminders, personalizing acknowledgement letters, and annual statements as necessary.
  • Provide the best donor services by communicating by telephone, hand written thank you notes and meeting donors face to face, to assure retention and migration.
  • Assist in securing and tracking sponsorship and event corporate table purchases for the annual fundraising Gala and other events as necessary.

Gift Entry (20%)

  • Manage development daily gift entry and acknowledgement batches entered into Raiser’s Edge Next data base in a timely and accurate basis.
  • Provide reporting on current revenue status as guided by Strategic Operations Manager and Development Director. 
  • Process year-end tax notifications in a timely manner.

Team Support and Other Duties (20%):

  • Supports whole Development team when called upon to do so.
  • Participate in cross-departmental internal and external committees as needed.
  • Able to work some evening/weekend events as needed (donor dinners, donor appreciation events, fundraising events, etc.).
  • Manage time effectively by completing work within scheduled time and assisting others as available.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience required
  • Two or more years of experience working in Development or Sales is preferred but not mandatory/
  • Familiarity with donor management systems/relational databases, understanding of information management and ability to store, manipulate and retrieve data. Prior research and Raiser's Edge knowledge a huge plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Superior attention to detail and strong ability to manage several different projects simultaneously and with grace under pressure.
  • High degree of integrity, ethical decision making and sound business judgment; able to honor sensitive information with appropriate level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allow successful interaction with all areas of the organization and with external clients.
  • Work independently and very proactively with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Have a record of accomplishment of attentiveness to detaill, deadlines, documentation, and timeliness
