Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council (DRMAC), program of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center.

DRMAC is the regional coordinating council for the Denver area with a vision of mobility and access for all.  A project of the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center, DRMAC is funded in part by Developmental Pathways and Federal Transportation Authority (FTA) funds.  This volunteer driver program will cover the counties of Arapahoe and Douglas in Colorado. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The DRMAC Rides Program Manager provides professional staff support for a volunteer driver program that will serve the people with Intellectual and developmental disabilities in Arapahoe and Douglas counties.  The Manager’s responsibility will be to insure safe transport of this population by providing trained and qualified drivers.  Manager will also administer the dispatch center.

Areas of Responsibility

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit, screen, interview and train new volunteers (Manager will visit partners, events, recreation centers e.g. Rotary to recruit drivers)
  • Develop weekly driver schedule
  • Maintain scheduling-center for riders and drivers
  • Respond to any complaints by driver or riders
  • Recruit riders and partner with agencies serving the same population
  • Perform volunteer driver evaluations and recognize driver performances through driver appreciation events
  • Attend staff meeting and assist in the evaluation of program
  • Provide additional training as needed or required
  • Update volunteer driver handbook
  • Other duties as may be assigned by Executive Director
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles—experience with volunteers preferred.
  • Ability to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Organizing skills to insure all drivers complete training and certifications.
  • Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and other local rules governing the transport of people with disabilities.
  • Computer literate in Excel and Word
  • Ability to Complete Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) training
  • Experience in personnel management would be a plus.
  • Effective organizational skills, problem solving and written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and will be required to pass a background check.
Compensation/Benefits

Part time - 20 hours per week - $20,000 annually - DRMAC offers a competitive paid time off package.
