Job Description: 

The Gift Processing Specialist, part of Denver Health Foundation’s Donor Database Operations team, is responsible for the accurate processing, receipting, and acknowledgement of donations using The Raiser's Edge, the Foundation’s fundraising database. This individual serves as a constituent records and contributions expert and promotes adherence to industry standard best practices for charitable contributions. Additionally, the Gift Processing Specialist will work closely with the Accounting team to reconcile revenue reports and be responsible for implementing Denver Health Foundation’s donation management strategy.

 

Areas of Responsibility

1. Familiarity with basic gift accounting principles, relevant IRS rulings, and general charitable gift guidelines 

2. Strong interpersonal and communications skills including tact, patience, and courtesy 

3. Experience processing donations and maintaining donor confidentiality 

4. Experience handling data inputs from and outputs to a variety of sources and people 

5. Able to manage large and complex file banks, spreadsheets, and databases 

6. Self-motivated and process-driven team player 

7. Analytic and thoughtful problem-solver, proactive problem-preventer 

8. Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to spot errors in work 

9. Able to rapidly integrate feedback and adapt to new systems 

10. Clear understanding of connections between skilled data management and nonprofit success 

11. Clear interest in contributing to an organizational culture of philanthropy while expanding your own interest in nonprofits, fundraising, and/or the Denver Health mission

12. Experience with The Raiser's Edge or other, similar database

Requirements/Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate required. Bachelors or Associates degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in bank operations, reconciliation, record keeping, transaction inquiry and cash handling required. 
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Development or non-profit environment required. 
  • Experience with fundraising or relationship management database tools such as Raiser's Edge, SalesForce or equivalent.
Compensation/Benefits
Compensation: 

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour, DOE
