JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing the Investment Operations processes which include all aspects of the trade life cycle, asset servicing, portfolio accounting, and cash management.  This position is also responsible for the management of the Investment Operations Analysts.

Areas of Responsibility

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for providing a consistent high level of operational support to the Investment teams
  • Oversees processes to ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines, policies and regulations relating to securities processing
  • Responsible for professional communication with internal and external business associates to ensure timely and accurate processes
  • Directly oversees the investment trading and accounting systems and confirms accurate records are maintained in all relevant reporting systems (Longview, Portia, FXALL, etc.)
  • Ensures that all proper internal controls are maintained and current for all investment operations functions
  • Oversees the trade life cycle to ensure the timely matching, reconciliation and settlement of trades
  • Oversees the asset servicing process to ensure accurate income collection, corporate action processing, and securities valuation and pricing
  • Oversees the completion of foreign country registrations and renewals, Know Your Client and compliance requests, and provides support for the tax reclaim process 
  • Oversees the cash management process including reconciliation of cash, processing of movements and wire transfers
  • Responsible for the management, evaluation, and development of Investment Operations staff as assigned
  • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining job procedures and policies
  • Responsible for managing staff to ensure that all securities transactions and records are accurately entered, reconciled, reviewed, and recorded
  • Provides assistance and backup to other team members as necessary
  • Participates in training and educational opportunities for ongoing professional development
  • Maintains regular and prompt attendance in the workplace 
  • Carries out other duties and projects as assigned 
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or closely related field; five to ten years investment operations or investment accounting experience; may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive experience in investment operations management
  • Sound knowledge of financial markets and various security types
  • Familiarity with investment related software such as Bloomberg
  • Strong working knowledge of information systems with PC proficiency and experience with MS Office
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Effective team building and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
