Job Summary

Membership Coordinator will aid the Scrum Alliance team and perform tasks such as promoting Membership benefits and services, answering to questions, taking phone calls, managing correspondence, and giving instructions to all members. 

A main purpose is making members feel welcome and aid in fostering communication on the Membership Blog. The strongest resume samples for Membership Coordinators showcase communication and organizational skills, customer service orientation, and courtesy.

This relationship-building position is the first line of communication with our members. The Membership Coordinator maintains the integrity of the Scrum Alliance member database and works closely with the team to implement select membership recruitment, retention and engagement activities.


This team member works with the Membership team to: 

  • Assist Senior Global Membership Program Manager with recruitment, retention and engagement activities including data entry and management, assisting with campaigns and monitoring engagement.
  • Monitor and respond to member inquiries via mail, email, phone, communities and website.
  • Fulfill membership database administration tasks, including maintaining database, updating/adding/deleting records, invoicing and renewals, list generation, login and password requests:
    • Produce membership reports, such as paid member counts, renewal and retention statistics, selection and management of list needs.
    • Ensuring accurate member counts for reporting and membership fees tracking for accounting.
    • Coordinate member data downloads as requested.
  • Contribute content for Scrum Alliance Membership website, blogs and social media outlets.
  • Ensure seamless integrations with third-party member services providers requiring membership credentials (Learning Management System, AgileCareers etc.)
  • Implement new member onboarding.
  • Follow up with lapsed and dropped members via surveys and phone calls
  • Maintain online Communities
  • Handle fulfillment of Corporate Member benefits
  • Attention to detail with excellent writing and verbal communications skills are a must along with an ability to work well in a small staff, team-oriented environment.  
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, a desire to grow and learn, and take ownership over their assigned project areas.  

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with Macintosh computers 
  • Experience practicing Agile and/or Scrum is a plus
  • Experience in a non-profit is a plus

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role so must be able to sit for long periods of time without problems

  • Must be able to have repetitive arm, wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to use close vision and able to focus including but not limited to reading/proofing various materials, and looking at a computer screen
  • The position will require the ability to lift 0-50lbs.
