ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops, implements, and monitors program operations and daily activities of the Southwest Safehouse.
• Evaluates overall program effectiveness and ensures that the program guidelines are met.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff and student interns. Performs all scheduling functions for staff and volunteers, ensuring adequate coverage for the program at all times.
• Supervises the provision of case management services for Safehouse residents, ensuring adequate information and referral resources.
• Fosters and maintains meaningful communication among all program personnel, volunteers, and residents; clarifies concepts and goals of the program to residents, volunteers, and staff.
• Coordinates services of other community agencies to respond to the needs of and benefit the residents of the Safehouse.
• Seeks out and develops fund raising opportunities, including grant writing, special events and donor solicitation.
• Performs duties in a professional manner adhering to the Social Work Code of Ethics.
• Develops, implements, and monitors goal planning for the Extended Stay Program Safehouse residents, in conjunction with counseling staff.
• Develops program budget in conjunction with Division Director and oversees control of expenditures.
• Serves as acting Southwest Colorado Supervisor when the Division Director is not available.
• Monitors the volunteer program to include recruitment, training, and the supervision of volunteers, either directly or through a coordinator. Keeps supervisor and counseling staff informed regarding volunteer issues.
• Coordinates networking and acts as a community liaison for the project, maintaining cooperative working relations. Serves on boards, councils, and attends meetings and community functions relative to the program.
• Provides trauma-informed care.
• Performs a variety of administrative duties in conjunction with the Division Director.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
• Bachelor’s Degree in a human service-related area or the equivalent.
• Minimum two years direct experience working with domestic violence survivors or relevant populations.
• Minimum one year experience in management, supervision, and administration to include preparing budgets, grant applications and funding requests.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
• Minimum one year experience in volunteer recruitment and coordination preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Windows environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills
• Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and state-mandated automobile insurance.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Requires sitting or standing at a desk for prolonged periods of time using a computer. Some lifting and carrying required up to 40 pounds. Some driving is required for daily errands around town and meetings at the Administration Office in Durango. Occasional travel required.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
• Full-time, 40 hours per week during business hours 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends and travel are required.
