Facilitate regular monthly meetings of the Food Access Coalition.
Work to develop leadership on the Food Access Coalition. Regularly identify opportunities for members of the Food Access Coalition to facilitate parts of meetings in order to build leadership and self-sufficiency on the Coalition.
Support any action teams/work groups of the Food Access Coalition, including providing facilitation (as needed); regularly following up with members to ensure tasks are being completed, and generally ensuring that any action teams/work groups are on track.
Continually recruit stakeholders to the Food Access Coalition.
Support the Food Access Coalition in raising funding as needed to implement projects.
Support members of the Food Access Coalition in prioritizing their 2017-19 goals, forming workgroups around the prioritized goals, implementing these goals, evaluating these goals, and adjusting these goals, as needed. Note: not all of these goals should be implemented in 2017. The 2017-19 goals currently include the following:
Support the creation of the Cloud City Farm
Research and implement strategies to maximize SNAP enrollment and ensure these programs support healthy eating
Develop a youth coalition to research sugar-sweetened beverages
Develop a community 52108 campaign
Develop a proposal for the Community Food Project grant opportunity
Develop a Summer Food Program
Execute the Fruit & Veggie Prescription Program/Cooking class/Weigh and Win
Work closely with the Contract Evaluator in order to evaluate the success of individual initiatives as well as the broad question of whether the Coalition is improving access to healthy food for people at or below 200% of poverty.
Work closely with the Contract Evaluator to complete reporting for the Colorado Health Foundation.
Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to communicate the work of the Food Access Coalition to stakeholders.
Ensure regular updates from the Nurse Coordinator at Lake County Public Health Agency, who will oversee the Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program and Cooking Classes, as well as work to broaden the reach of Weigh and Win.
