Then consider applying for our part-time Youth Master Plan Coordinator position focused on Housing!

This role will coordinate the work of the Housing Coalition to complete a Housing Needs Assessment and identify at 2 interventions that will increase opportunities for Lake County residents to live in healthy and affordable housing. 

Areas of Responsibility

Continually recruit stakeholders to the Housing Coalition.

Facilitate regular monthly meetings of the Housing Coalition. Work to develop leadership on the Housing Coalition. Regularly identify opportunities for members of the Housing Coalition to facilitate parts of meetings in order to build leadership and self-sufficiency on the Coalition.

Support any action teams/work groups of the Housing Coalition, including providing facilitation (as needed); regularly following up with members to ensure tasks are being completed; and generally ensuring that any action teams/work groups are on track.

Support the Housing Coalition in raising funding, publishing an RFP for a Housing Needs Assessment, and hiring and executing a contract with a consultant.  

Support the Housing Coalition in implementing at least two interventions (such as local ordinances, systems change, or programs) to improve access to health and affordable housing in Lake County by the end of 2017.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Must have strong computer skills, including, but not limited to, an ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, and to learn programs such as Wordpress, Textizen or MailChimp.
  • Must be able to work 20 hours a week.
  • Must be flexible and willing to do whatever is necessary.
  • Must be able to work independently as appropriate.
  • Must be organized and a strong communicator.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment.
  • Must be collaborative and able to work with a wide variety of community leaders and community members.
  • Prefer a candidate with experience working with high-school age youth.
  • Prefer a candidate with experience in community organizing.
  • Prefer a candidate with experience facilitating groups and meetings.
  • Prefer a candidate with experience coordinating stakeholder groups to execute community-level change.
  • Prefer a candidate with knowledge of the Lake County community.
  • Bilingual considered a plus.
Compensation/Benefits

Salary DOE. Eligible for an attractive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; a 6% retirement match; sick, personal, and vacation days; and a pass to the Lake County pool.
