Summary

I am a Master's student at DU pursuing an M.S. in Nonprofit Leadership. I have over 6 years of experience working at stay away summer camps and 4 years of experience with a variety of nonprofits. I have experience working with people with disabilities, victims of domestic abuse, and people with Parkinson's. I have seen the challenges created by a lack of diversity, equity, and inclusion in various states, and I hope to learn as much as I can so I can be a part of the solution.

  • Worked with executive leadership to develop strategies for connecting and aiding People of Color with Parkinson’s.
  • Connected over 5000 people with Parkinson’s to local resources through guides distributed to 1 in-person and 5 virtual events.
  • Collaborated on a formatted excel sheet for tracking all contacts, current and potential, to guide location choices for future events.
  • Successfully transitioned to a remote work environment and aided in the virtualization of the organization’s key event, The Victory Summit.
  • Developed meaningful relationships with several DPF Ambassadors, people with Parkinson’s around the country.

  • Interviewed and hired 6 diverse staff members and worked to maintain their well-being for 9 weeks.
  • Oversaw the fun, health, and safety of 300+ campers while they learned to or improved their driving skills in go-karts and buggies.
  • Aided in the development of several new programs to bring STEM aspects to camp.
  • Taught 12 groups of 10-15 children aged 9-17, the principles of safe driving and basic racing tactics.
  • Planned other activities that did not involve driving so campers could expand horizons.
