The Nonprofit Governance Training Series provides nonprofit leaders, both Board and staff with solid proven concepts for developing a great governing board. The series consists of five separate two-hour presentations. 

  • Every presentation is content-rich and grounded in over 30 years of real life experience. 
  • In most cases, the content is new to the attendees, providing them with fresh ideas and solutions to long-standing challenges. 
  • Attendees are invited and encouraged to engage in dialog that fosters lively discussion about their own organizations and how the training topic applies to them. 
  • Attendees share and learn together in a comfortable environment. 
  • Attendees are provide with real examples of organizations who have used the concepts to their benefit (best in class), and organizations who struggled as a result on not using the concepts.

 

Great governing boards serve as enthusiastic advocates for resources in the community. This training identifies why board members are reluctant to engage in fundraising and provides 10 concrete steps to transform them into strong advocates. Attendees will learn how to remove the fear of fundraising and find appropriate ways to get their governing board engaged.

  • 10 concrete steps that every nonprofit can take to create a fundraising culture.

  • Tools and techniques for removing the anxiety associated with fundraising.

  • Examples of how other nonprofit organizations have transformed their board into strong advocates and fundraisers.

  • A menu of options for board members to engage in ways that do not require them to directly solicit funds.

Mark Holdt, Owner and Founder of Mountain Sage Consulting, has provided leadership, planning and resource solutions to over 140 nonprofit organizations. He specializes in board development, strategic planning, finance and fundraising. With over 30 years of experience, Mark has a proven track record of providing creative solutions that enable organizations to reach their potential. Mark has provided training locally for the Colorado Nonprofit Association for the past ten years and has also been featured at numerous regional and national training conferences.
