Diversity, equity and inclusion cannot be achieved without intention. In order to realize the greatest competitive advantage and retain the most qualified employees, companies must make an effort to ensure that a diverse population of employees is fully represented and that a culture of inclusion and respect is promoted and maintained. In this session, we will discuss the difference between diversity, equity and inclusion, why they are critical to your business success and how to create a strategy for each. Participants will leave this session with knowledge on how to build diverse teams and retain them by creating an equitable and inclusive workplace that is free from racial and gender bias.

Presenters

Reagan Freed, owner/founder, is an accomplished HR executive with over 20 years of experience developing people strategies that support organizational goals. Her experience ranges across a wide variety of industries and global companies including CH2M HILL, ECC, Comcast Cable, Sitel and ServiceSource. Reagan’s broad knowledge of HR and business disciplines enable her to develop unique people strategies designed to contribute to overall strategy and directly impact bottom line results.



Her areas of focus are HR strategy, employee engagement, compliance/policy development and training, process evaluation and improvement, and refining employment structures to meet the ongoing and evolving needs of the business.



Reagan earned her Bachelor's in Business Management from the University of Colorado, Denver, and is a certified SHRM-SCP. Reagan serves as an HR Consultant for the Boulder Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado State HR Council.



 



Liza Towne, principal consultant, has a wide-ranging background in Human Resources disciplines with expertise in employee relations, risk management, human capitol recruitment and retention, diversity & inclusion and performance management. Her broad business acumen comes from experience serving both the non-profit and for-profit sectors and supporting industries including human services, communications, banking, and healthcare. Her experience has led her to support businesses in North America, LATAM, EMEA and APAC with detailed expertise in the US, Canada and the Philippines.



Liza earned her Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management from Bellevue University, NE and is PHR certified. She is a member of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Human Resources Association of the Midlands (HRAM). Liza donates her time to support diversity initiatives and inclusivity in her community. She volunteers with various GLBTQIA organizations and chaperones the Tom Mahoney Pride Prom annually.
