2018 Keynote Information

Monday Keynote: Mike Miles

Courage, Innovation and the Path to 2030

We're excited to announce that this year we will be joined by Mike Miles, CEO of Third Future Schools. A long-time leader in K12 education, Miles will share his thoughts on what it means to be “intrepid," and how courage and innovation must be key characteristics of nonprofits over the next decade.

Having served as a soldier, diplomat and school superintendent, Mike offers a great perspective for nonprofit leaders trying to adapt to the ever-quickening pace of technological and social change.

Tuesday Keynote: Governor John Hickenlooper

Conversation with the Governor and Award Celebration

Lunch on Tuesday is packed with exceptional community leaders who have immensely impacted Colorado. First, we will meet the winners of the 2018 Nonprofit Impact Award. We'll hear about their work on "Donate to Colorado Nonprofit" Tax Checkoff Fund and how their dedication helped pass SB 18-141! On May 29, Governor Hickenlooper signed SB 18-141 into law! 141 authorizes a new line on the tax form for 2020 (2019 tax year) called the "Donate to a Colorado Nonprofit Fund," which allows Colorado taxpayers to donate part or all of their tax refund to any nonprofit registered in Colorado. Join us in this celebration.

Immediately following, we will have Governon John Hickenlooper join us for a "Conversation with the Governor" discussing: civic engagement of intrepid leaders; reflections of his time as governor, greatest achievements of his term, and what more he wants to accomplish; and the importance of engaging nonprofit organizations with both the communities they serve and elected officials.
