Denver-based nonprofit, Open Media Foundation, creates video streaming platform to increase transparency and engagement between local governments and the communities they serve.
Local government is where the public has the greatest opportunity to make an impact, and also where decisions are made that most impact their lives. Yet citizens report a lack of media coverage and exposure to local government that leaves them uninformed and disengaged, said Brian Hiatt.
Through the new service called Open Media Project, the public can now easily access local government and stay informed on decisions that impact them.
This also includes nonprofits that can track local policy decisions that impact their mission and constituents.
