DENVER, COLO. (Sept. 19, 2018) Colorado Nonprofit Association announced the keynote speaker for the 2018 Colorado Nonprofit Conference: Intrepid, where nearly 1,000 nonprofit professionals from across the state will gather at Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, Oct. 8–9, 2018.
Mike Miles, CEO of Third Future Schools, will deliver the Conference keynote, sharing his thoughts on what it means to be “intrepid” and how courage and innovation must be key characteristics of nonprofits over the next decade. Having served as a soldier, diplomat and school superintendent, Miles offers a unique perspective for nonprofit leaders trying to adapt to the ever-quickening pace of technological and social change.
“For Colorado’s nonprofit community, future success will only be achieved by taking bold and innovative actions,” said Renny Fagan, president and CEO of Colorado Nonprofit Association. “This year’s Conference will be an opportunity for nonprofit professionals to learn from others and discover unconventional approaches to solve our most pressing challenges.”
During the two-day conference, attendees will engage in networking with leaders from Colorado’s nonprofit, public and private sectors and participate in a variety of professional development opportunities. This year’s conference will feature more than 90 educational breakout sessions led by experts in fundraising, board governance, communications, technology and more.
Colorado Nonprofit Association will honor Gov. Hickenlooper at this year’ Conference for his longstanding commitment to Colorado’s nonprofit community. The Association will also present the 2018 Nonprofit Impact Award, which recognizes public leaders who have enacted policies that not only support nonprofits but also improve the health and well-being of Colorado’s communities.
