Colorado Nonprofit Association works to meet the various needs of the nonprofit sector. To help meet and identify these needs in our education programming, we will indicate a level of difficulty on the majority of professional development registration pages. We have identified three levels of difficulty:
Beginner
- Basic trainings are catered to participants with 0 – 2 years of experience in the field or topic of the training
- We ask trainers to consider the following:
- What are the fundamental principles necessary to understand the topic of the training?
- What assumptions can/can’t I make about the audience?
- What infrastructure is required for an organization to implement change relevant to the training?
- How can the training allow for discussion and practice of the topic/concept?
- How can I inspire participants to engage deeper in the nonprofit sector?
Intermediate
- Intermediate trainings are catered to participants with 3 – 5 years of experience in the field or topic of the training
- We ask trainers to consider the following:
- How do I help organizations transition to sustainable practices?
- What basic concepts need to be reinforced before taking a deeper dive?
- If staffing allows, how can the practices suggested in the training be delegated throughout the organization?
- How do I connect basic principles to larger concepts to help attendees advance?
- Are the concepts of my training driven strategically or programmatically?
- How can the training allow for discussion and practice of the topic/concept?
- How can I inspire professional growth and longevity in the nonprofit sector?
Advanced
- Advanced trainings are catered to participants with 6 or more years of experience in the field or topic of the training
- We ask trainers to consider the following:
- What is innovative about the training concept to help organizational growth?
- How will the training encourage strategic, long-term growth?
- What infrastructure is required for an organization to implement change relevant to the training?
- If staffing allows, how can the practices suggested in the training be delegated throughout the organization?
- How can the training allow for discussion and practice of the topic/concept?
- How can I inspire continued commitment?
