LoDo District, Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to serving the LoDo area, one of Denver’s oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods. LoDo District, Inc., a membership organization, supports LoDo’s unique historical, business and residential components through marketing, education, and advocacy, on behalf of its member organizations.
This is an opportunity for a college-level student to be an active part of the nonprofit public relations and marketing processes and earn first-hand experience with a variety of social media platforms and on a number of tasks, including developing e-newsletter content, promoting the organization’s mission and its members, giveaways, promotions and other social media campaigns, scheduling posts, etc. Interns will become familiar with how a marketing/public relations department operates in the nonprofit field.
This is an unpaid position. In order to be eligible for this internship, student applicants must be an upper-classman, in good standing with their college or university, and be able to use internship hours towards degree credits.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Build upon, engage, and interact with social network audiences;
Monitor online and social media for LoDo related-posts, including analytics and insights;
Gather content for the public-facing weekly newsletters, Explore LoDo;
Assist in the creation of various marketing materials for print and digital distribution;
Work in collaboration with LoDo District, Inc. staff on promotional campaigns;
Help to develop new ideas and directions for LoDo District, Inc.’s social media presence;
Attend and assist with committee meetings and tasks as needed;
Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to produce publication-quality writing with little staff editing, review or oversight; writing is a huge component of daily tasks and expectations will be set accordingly;
To be reliable and complete tasks in a time-appropriate manner;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize when necessary;
Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
Attend weekly overview meeting;
Flexibility to volunteer at events;
Familiarity with social media, e-newsletter and website platforms;
Familiarity with Canva is a plus;
Having your own laptop is also a plus, but a desktop computer can be provided if necessary.
