Nonprofit Executive Leadership Retreat

Step Away. Connect Deeply. Lead Differently.

Nonprofit leadership can be isolating. This retreat is designed to change that.

Join a curated group of nonprofit Executive Directors and CEOs from across Colorado for a three-day, immersive experience focused on building trusted relationships, strengthening leadership capacity, and creating space to think, reflect, and grow.

This is not a conference. It’s a working retreat for leaders who want to lead with greater clarity, resilience, and impact.

Spots are limited, and we expect strong interest. If you’re ready to invest in your leadership—and connect with a trusted network of peers—we encourage you to apply.

What You’ll Gain

A Trusted Network of Peers: Build meaningful relationships with fellow nonprofit leaders who understand the complexity of your role—and who you can rely on long after the retreat ends.

Practical Leadership Growth: Engage in facilitated sessions and coaching focused on:

  • Navigating complex leadership challenges
  • Strengthening transformational leadership skills
  • Leading with authenticity and clarity

Experiential Learning: Participate in guided outdoor experiences led by Nature Place staff, including:

  • Orienteering
  • Low & High Ropes Course

Space to Reflect and Reset: Step out of day-to-day demands and into an environment designed for focus, perspective, and renewal.

Who This Retreat Is For

This retreat is designed for nonprofit CEOs and Executive Directors who are ready to step back, reflect, and engage deeply with peers.

You’re a strong fit if you:

  • Lead an organization with a $1M–$10M budget
  • Are navigating growth, team/culture challenges, or a strategic inflection point
  • Value honest conversation and are willing to talk openly about uncertainty
  • Bring a “start with yes” mindset and are open to new perspectives
  • Are willing to give and receive candid feedback
  • Recognize you don’t have all the answers—and don’t need to
  • Believe better thinking happens in community
  • Are committed to investing in others, not just yourself

Our cohort is intentionally curated to include:

  • Leaders from across Colorado (urban, rural, and statewide)
  • A balance of gender and BIPOC representation
